Knitting needles & notions
- Circular needle 6 mm (40 cm)
- Circular needle 5 mm (40 cm)
- Double pointed needles 6 mm
Gauge
13 sts × 18 rows = 10 × 10 cm in St st using 6 mm needles. Check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary.
Construction
The hat is cast on with contrast color and worked in 1×1 rib for 10 cm. Change to larger needles and follow the charted stranded motif. Decreases are incorporated into the chart for the crown. Work is completed on double pointed needles when stitches become few. Break yarn, thread through remaining stitches, and pull tight. Finishing includes weaving in ends, rinsing, drying flat, and folding the rib in half.
