Cormorants/European Shags — Inspired by birds resting on a rugged skerry. A classic yoke sweater with graphic colorwork and short-row shaping at the back neck.

Knitting needles & notions

3.5 mm and 4.5 mm circular needles (40 & 80 cm); 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm double pointed needles.

Gauge

18 sts and 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm in St st using 4.5 mm needles.
Check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary.

Construction

Body and sleeves are worked in the round to the underarm, then joined to work the yoke in the round; short-row shaping at the back of the neck.
